Hot Cross Bun-nanza!

Goodwill Projects, partnering with Angela Duncan and Ray White Aspley, got into to the Easter festivities by hosting the Hot Cross Bun-nanza at the Carseldine Markets!

Held on March 24th 2018, a week before Easter - Hot Cross Bun-nanza was highly popular receiving coverage from The Urban List, Brisbane News and RACQ Living. The ‘best in show’ competition featured Brisbane’s best award-winning bakeries, drawing in sweet-toothed foodies from all over Brisbane. The hugely successful hot cross bun competition attracted competitive eaters from interstate who flew in especially for the event. A portion of the proceeds from this competition were donated to local PCYC in support of their youth services.

Goodwill Projects provided:

  • Concept development
  • Tailored variety of curated stallholders and vendors
  • Stall management
  • Marketing and social media campaigning
  • Interactive competition
  • Donations to local charities

The Brief

Our brief was to create an exciting event that encompassed the hype, and excitement of the Easter holidays for the whole family. With festive times being especially hard on the less-fortunate, the event was a way for Goodwill projects, along with the public to give back to the local community.

The Solution

The event successfully created an entertaining experience for families and friends alike with Goodwill Projects collaborating with Jocelyn Hancock of Cake and Bake, Flour and Chocolate, Nodo, Wild Wheat, Banneton Bakery and French Patisserie to deliver the event. With the Local Councillor and Lord Mayor in attendance to award the 'best in show' to Jocelyn Hancock of Cake and Bake plus the winner of the hot cross bun eating competition.
